Meet John Perry

John Perry is an accomplished nonprofit Operations Director and Public Sector Program Manager specializing in government administration, regulatory compliance, and statewide public safety initiatives.

As a former State Fire Marshal’s Office Community Risk Reduction Coordinator for the State of Tennessee Commerce & Insurance, John administered critical statewide programs designed to mitigate residential hazards and protect local communities.

Real estate professionals work hard to protect their clients, but standard continuing education has a gap when it comes to fire prevention and home safety. That's why John, alongside his wife, Denise, founded Frontline Academy LLC—to give agents the tools they need to spot hidden hazards and navigate every transaction with total confidence.

This is not our typical CE Course...

Most real estate continuing education relies on passive online lectures that skip practical site evaluation. When listing older homes or hillside parcels in high-exposure interface zones, agents need concrete inspection methods rather than abstract legal summaries.

Our goal is to bring real-world experience directly into 3-hour live workshops, training you to spot fire hazards, evaluate defensible space, and document property realities before client contracts are executed.

Our Course

Our in-person 3 hour workshop consists of 3 one hour modules.

Course I: Fire Safety Fundamentals

A foundational look at the fire safety knowledge every real estate professional should have — smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, residential sprinklers, lithium-ion battery safety, and smoke/CO alarm rules for rental property. Perfect for agents who want practical, everyday safety knowledge they can pass on to clients.

Course II: Assessing Fire Risk; Older Homes, Rural Property & Wildland-Urban Interface

Learn to recognize fire risk factors in older housing stock, rural properties, and homes near wildland areas — from outdated wiring to defensible space and insurance underwriting impact. Built for agents working listings outside the standard suburban box.

Master the language of fire safety conversations — what to say, what to avoid, and how to guide clients confidently without creating liability. Covers short-term rental compliance and how to turn fire safety knowledge into a professional differentiator.
